POV: You’re My Coaching Client

A powerful look inside a real coaching session—how one mom began healing trauma, breaking cycles, and becoming the emotionally healthy parent she never had.

[Shared with love + permission. Names changed for privacy.]

“I’m not sure what’s next… but I know I can’t keep living like this.”

That’s where Jenna started.

When she stepped into her first session with me, she didn’t bring a neatly outlined plan for healing. She brought a full heart. A life full of love and pain and overwhelm. And a flicker of hope that whispered, maybe it doesn’t have to be this way anymore.

She wasn’t broken.She wasn’t behind.She just needed space.

Space to feel.Space to be witnessed.Space to put herself back on the list.

🪞What Jenna Brought With Her:

  • A deep awareness that anger was taking up too much space in her life—and a quiet yearning to release it

  • Emotional exhaustion from years in a relationship laced with gaslighting and emotional neglect

  • The chronic overwhelm of motherhood, especially as a mom of a special needs kiddo with very little support

  • A self-image shaped by generational guilt and the toxic belief that she should just “be grateful for what she has”

  • A fierce desire to stop people-pleasing and finally start living on her terms

🌿 What Our First Session Looked Like:

1. We honored her anger. She learned that her anger isn’t a problem—it’s a signal that something inside of her knows she deserves better. Like an emotional check engine light, we welcomed it in as information, not harm. As her sacred truth, nothing to be ashamed of.

2. We talked about self-love as survival. She’s always known how to love others, but turning that love inward? That’s the work. That’s where the magic starts. We discussed how she could start giving herself the love she gives so easily to those around her.

3. We celebrated the cycles she's already breaking.Even in her “messiest” moments, Jenna is doing things differently than what was done to her. She’s showing up with honesty and teaching her children the same. She’s not failing—she’s changing her family tree.

4. We brought the body into the conversation. The tension in her jaw, the shortness of breath, the racing thoughts—those aren’t flaws. They’re stories. And they can shift. I gave her some techniques for relaxation that will alleviate anxiety and help her feel at peace in her body.

5. We gave her permission to slow down.No 10-step program. No gold star. Just clarity around how she wants to feel—and the bravery to take the next true step toward it. The beautiful part about one-on-one’s is you don’t have to follow anyone’s path but your own.

🌙 Let’s Talk About You for a Second

Be honest…

  • Are you waking up every day feeling like you’re behind, but not even sure what race you're running?

  • Do you find yourself snapping more than you want to, carrying shame for the version of you your kids are seeing?

  • Are you constantly giving from an empty cup—exhausted, but afraid to slow down?

  • Do you secretly fear you’ll repeat the same patterns you swore you’d break?

  • Have you been stuck in “just surviving” mode for so long that dreaming feels dangerous—or even selfish?

If you’re whispering yes to any of this, I want you to know something:

You are not too far gone. You don’t have to figure it all out before you ask for support. And healing doesn’t mean you stop being who you are.It means you finally come home to yourself.

🌱 Imagine This Instead…

  • Knowing how to calm your nervous system before reacting

  • Feeling proud of the way you’re parenting—even on the hard days

  • Letting yourself rest, without guilt or apology

  • Watching your kids learn emotional intelligence because you’re modeling it

  • Finally having space in your life for joy, desire, and connection

  • And most of all… loving the woman you’re becoming

That’s what my clients experience. And you deserve it too.

If you’re still with me, thank you for holding space for Jenna’s story—and maybe even seeing a little of yourself in it. Now, let’s return to where we left off...

📓 Her First Homework:

After all that reflection, release, and realization in our first session, Jenna left with something gentle—but deeply impactful. Not a to-do list. Not a productivity plan. Just a few soul-stirring questions to sit with as she began stepping into a new version of herself.

  • What does a true and beautiful life look like to you?

  • Who are you becoming when you’re no longer living from fear?

  • What would it mean to be the mom you needed?

She also started learning emotional regulation tools—for herself, and for her kids. That’s the ripple effect of this work.

💥 Why This Matters

Jenna didn’t show up with the answers. She showed up with honesty. With pain, confusion, grit—and a whole lot of heart.

And that’s all it takes to begin.

This is what coaching looks like. Not some shiny life-hack performance. Not a productivity sprint.Just a safe, brave container to shift. To grieve. To grow.To choose a different path forward than the one you inherited.

💫 What If You’re Next?

If Jenna’s story feels like yours…If you’ve been quietly holding it all together, but something inside you is whispering there has to be more...If you’re ready to finally be held in a space that’s safe, honest, and healing—

I want you to know:This work is here for you.I’m here for you.

Reach out if you feel the pull.No pressure. No perfect timing required. Just your brave, honest heart saying: I’m ready to do this differently.

Let’s begin your story, one step at a time.💌 You can message me anytime—I’d love to hear what’s on your heart.

Until next time, Love you-mean it!
